Big changes around here! Ellen got a great present for the end of the summer - no more braces! She was pretty dang excited. But you have to suffer to be beautiful. She got them off one day, went back the next day, and already some of her teeth had moved. So they got out the pliers and pulled it into place. Ow! She got a permanent retainer put in behind the bottom teeth and a traditional one in on top. She came out from the back holding a retainer case and I was waiting for her to put it in, but it was in already! I was expecting something like my sister's metal and pink resin thingy from back in the day, but Ellen's is clear and almost invisible. Very nice. Picture coming soon. In the meantime, Ellen was excited to eat a few formerly forbidden treats - caramel corn, carrots, apples, nuts, and lemonade.
Then there's my Sarah. She's got her own interesting tooth-related story. She was complaining of a toothache and a new tooth coming in. I thought she already had all her teeth, but I took a look. Sure enough, there's a tooth coming in. So I called the dentist, to get Ellen a nice thorough cleaning and a check up for Sarah. The receptionist at the dentist (she's so cool she knows who I am right away!) checked Sarah's chart and said all her 12 year molars are in. This new tooth must be a wisdom tooth! Sarah is only 13! Crazy! I told her this must mean she's very wise, but she just laughed.
Anyway, I will upload a picture of Ellen's metal-free smile soon and post back about Sarah's new tooth.

Yay for Ellen! She looks beautiful. Wisdom teeth at 13 = very wise indeed!
Ellen looks great! Braces are hard but well worth the wait.
I love that picture of Ellen. She is such a pretty girl.
