Highs and Lows

I can't believe I haven't posted in a month! The time went so fast. I have a bunch of pictures I wanted to upload, but I can't find the cable, so I'll just write today.

Highs:

Sarah turned 15, had a great choir concert, and got her learner's permit.

We got our new kitchen floor and it looks great! (definitely pictures to come on that!)

Book group (both of them) has been so much fun! I really love being able to visit with my friends about what I'm reading.

We had a great trip to Lagoon.

We ordered Ellen's class ring and cap and gown! Senior year is busy!

Randy and Will and I went to the Ryan Shupe concert at the Scera shell.

I like my new job working for Mountain View Packaging.

General Conference was great.

I have lost 15 pounds!!!

Lows:

We were sick the entire month of September! First with a cold, then Will and Ellen got the stomach flu, then everyone (except me!) got the actual influenza flu. Not fun.

Then I hurt my back at the beginning of October, and was still miserable. Feeling much better, though.

We are stretched super thin with finances. Even with my new job, it seems like we go further into debt every day. Very depressing.

Diets make you grouchy.

We discovered that Will has ADHD. Now that means everyone of my kids will be seeing a psychiatrist for the medications, and our mental health insurance is a pain.

Mostly, the good outweighs the bad around here. I hope you are all doing well. When we were sick, I got out of the habit of using the internet, and I haven't really got back into everything yet. Take care!

There are definitely times to blog and other times to just experience life. It sounds like you have been really busy. I am sorry about the sickness...that is perhaps one of my least favorite things. Then again, you enjoys being sick?

Yay for the highs, boo to the lows. :( I'm glad you're getting over your sickness.

Too bad about the diagnosis for Will. I never thought he was a hyperactive child when we lived there and he came over. He had about the same energy level as Bryson. Sometimes diet issues like gluten and dairy can cause those reactions. I know some parents that went that route because their kids got worse on Ritalin and other drugs.

Here's a good resource.

Good luck!!

I've got a kiddo with adhd too. We've made some dietary changes, increased the amount of exercise he gets and worked on behavior issues at home. It's helped, but I'm not going to say it's easy.

And there is a hereditary factor and we notice some members of his extended family have similar issues as well.

There's my two cents, not that you asked for it, but it's something we've been working through for awhile now.
