So it looks like we've got it - the flu, that is. I've heard that chicken pox and strep throat are both going around, but I wasn't really worried about the flu. Looks like I was overconfident. Sarah was achy all over yesterday, tired and losing her voice. So we went to the doctor and yep - she's got the flu. (She doesn't look like that guy, BTW. She wanted me to tell you.)
And this is just in time for Will's birthday party on Saturday, family party on Sunday, Valentine's dance Friday, and the real thing next week. The doctor said we could all plan on catching it. Swell.
Just in case, I'm handing out Vitamin C and goldenseal capsules to everyone in the house. I'm not sure it will actually do any good, but at least I will be able to say that I tried! Meanwhile, I need to pick up some popsicles, juice, and chicken soup.

Sorry about the flu! We've been so lucky, for the past two years no one in our family has gotten sick (knock on wood). Jeremy's starting to think it's the well water.
For prevention, there is a great product you can get at the health food store called Sambucol (elderberry extract). If you are already sick, it doesn't work, but if someone in your family is sick and you want to prevent getting sick, you down quite a bit of it and it totally works!! We always have it on hand around here.
