Ward Service Auction

We had so much fun at the Relief Society Service auction. The way it works is that you donate an item or a service, and then everything is auctioned off for points. Ellen and Sarah and I went this week. You get points for everything from reading your scriptures, praying, performing an act of service, to random things like exercising, breaking a bad habit, meeting someone new.

My service was a mini scrapbook - I have the album, you give me the pictures, and I'll do the rest. Sallie Emmons won that one, so I just need to pick up the pictures and get to work. Ellen donated handmade jewelry. She wore one of her new necklaces and used that as an example. Maleen won that. Ellen is working on the necklace now, but I bet Maleen will but a picture of it on her blog.

There was a lot of fun stuff up for auction. Jamee volunteered a foot massage and pedicure. That was a hot item! And Kelly, who is a hairstylist, volunteered a scalp massage and style, a manicure, and a eyebrow wax. Zoe made this amazing baby afghan that was the high ticket item.

As for what we took home - we struck it rich! Sarah won a pie from Sunny, just about any flavor she wants. Sarah is going for apple. Then Ellen won an entire carrot cake from Sloane! It's just the way I like it too, full of raisins, pineapple, and walnuts, with cream cheese frosting. It was so dang good. Then Ellen used her points to get a loaf of zucchini bread for Sarah. And I won a chocolate cheesecake from Shiloh. I'm not sure when that one will be delivered, but it's a good thing it wasn't ready then. We had so many goodies!

I think that next year I'm going to offer to clean out your car. I know how much I loved it when Will did that for me. Or maybe I'll make monkey bread. Hmm.

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE my necklace. I wore it today and the baby couldn't keep her hands off it. I will definitely post pictures soon.
It was a really fun night, I thought.

I'm so glad you like it! Ellen had fun making it, and was glad she had found something to auction that someone would enjoy.

I'll get Sarah the pie sometime in the next week - is that okay?
