Product Review: Celebrate Earth Day - buy a shirt!

Happy Earth Day! To those of you who are both environmentally conscious and fashion forward, I wanted to share our latest eco-friendly purchase. My kids are all into helping save the earth, and when I went to Wal-Mart lately, I saw some clothes I knew they would love. Wal-Mart has a rack of shirts for women and kids all made from 100% organically grown cotton. The kids each picked one out, and their choices really reflect their personalities. Will's says, "Save a tree - eliminate homework!" Sarah's choice says, "Save energy - don't talk to me!" And Ellen's shirt says, "Save the humans", complete with a blue whale.

And as we were leaving, we saw another rack of clothes made by Coca-Cola in honor of Earth Day. These shirts all had earth-friendly messages (and promoted Coke), but what really made them cool was that they were all made with recycled 2 liter pop bottles! How cool is that? Sadly, all of these shirts were a little too snug for us, but they also had men's shirts. And best of all, all of the shirts were from $5-$10, just right for our budget.

Here's a link for more about the Coke shirts.

So happy Earth Day! It's a great day to have a picnic, to gather up those newspapers or aluminum cans, or make a run to Deseret Industries. The planet will thank you!

What fun shirts. I love the sayings. Did you end up getting any shirts for you or just the kids?

None for me this time. They don't mind buying shirts without trying them on, but I hate doing that. Plus they stole all the good ones! Although I liked this pink one with a mouse sitting at a desk holding a pencil. It said, No Animal Testing.
