Saved the washing machine!

Our big adventure today was fixing the washing machine. Every once in a while, the water wouldn't drain out of the washer. I'd try to empty it and the clothes would still be dripping with water. Randy was about ready to buy a new machine, but instead we unhooked the hose at the back and let it drain into a bucket. Yuck! What a bunch of icky stuff came out. We found what we thought was the problem - a large button. But when we hooked it up again, it was still making a funny sound. So we drained it again. (I say we, but of course, he was doing most of the work. I was just opening the washer every now and then.) This time we found a small lid to something or other. The next time we just got a bunch of lint out. Anyway, the washing machine is saved, for now, and it's a good thing, as I really did NOT want to have to buy a new one.

So not the most exciting of events, but thank goodness Randy is handy and can fix things like that.
